Launched in 2019 as part of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)’s “Come Write In” offerings, the Sacramento Public Library is now hosting a new bi-weekly writing group.
Led by Black Heart Editor-in-Chief Laura Roberts, the Quiet Writers group meets on 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month at the Valley Hi-North Laguna Library (7400 Imagination Parkway) in South Sacramento. The group meets from 2 to 4 PM in one of the available conference rooms, and attendees are encouraged to bring whatever writing project and tools they’ll need to work quietly for two hours.
Attendance is free and open to the public, and prompts are available for those who want them. The group offers time to write, reflect, and engage in creative work without judgment. There are no critiques, and there’s no obligation to share anything you write during the session.
Upcoming dates for the group’s meetings are January 11, January 25, February 8, February 22, March 14, and March 28.
With two full hours of quiet writing time, what could you accomplish?
